The Research Institute of America found that two days after instructor-led training students retain on average only 33% of the course content. Three weeks after the course, only 15% is retained.

Learning is seldom a one-time event and retention is never 100%. In a typical scenario, users take a course then, back at their desks, they have to resort to a "Quick Reference Card", a text-based Help system which is essentially an online Quick Reference Card, or their course notes. No one considers a Quick Reference card to be training, and yet that is often the only training resource the user has after the course. We accept that users may not remember, and we believe that true training should be available at any time. For that reason, our eReference products are fully featured training products. After performing the task in the simulator to refresh their memory, the user returns to the actual task.
